A motto you swear by?
A motto?
A motto.. or a phrase, a quote… Or a saying that stuck with you.
That's a tough question to start with. I wanted it to be something that's good. But now I feel like I'm overthinking it. Can I come back to question one and make it be question five?
Yes!
No.1 An artwork that inspired you this week. It can be anything, film, music..
It can be an album, it can be anything.
Yes
In that case it is going to be Sarah Mary Chadwick's Eating For Two. That's the album that I sent you a couple days ago. It really inspired me because of how stripped back it is and it's incredibly raw and completely unadorned and I think that's something that we can all get some inspiration from, especially as musicians but kind of in everything; Sticking to the meat and potatoes of what makes something good.
I felt the same way about this one. Thank you for sharing it.
Did you check it out?
Yes, I loved it!
I just love the composition. It’s crazy, she’s so in your face.
Yes! And it doesn't feel empty. It's a fun listen.
Yes, it's amazing. I don't know how they mixed it or maybe it’s just [that] the performances are so good, because it never feels empty.
No.2 A memorable moment from this week.
This week was a blur, to be frank. But I'm going to say, discovering very quickly and violently that the quote on quote, ‘non-slip’ shoes that I bought for work are not non-slip because I slipped and fell at work and almost died. So be careful on the recently mopped floors if you work at a restaurant. That's my memorable moment. I'll learn from that one for sure.

No.3 How would you describe this week in a sentence?
I would describe it as a busy, hectic, but all in all very productive week. Do you want me to elaborate or do you just want the sentence?
Whatever you want.
Well, I was telling you earlier, having all the Revelator [Records] stuff, which is awesome, I'm realizing I'm all of a sudden getting busy with it, which is what I wanted but also, juggling a new job, all in the same week has been very hectic, but in a good way.
I have one more question but I can rephrase the first one for you-
No.4 Is there any advice you ever received and would like to share?
I've gotten tons of great advice. I would say a really good piece of advice I got was actually from Ben from Ba Da Bing! [Records]. I was asking him - I love playing live and I've got this band I love playing with, what's the best way to reach new people? And his advice was just say yes to every opportunity you get to play. So I've been trying to, unless I really can't do it. If somebody says, ‘hey, would you like to play this bill?’ my instant reaction used to be to kind of overthink it, but instead of doing that [I’m] just trying to be like, ‘Yep, let's do it.’ If I can make the time for it, let's do it. So - say yes to every gig if you can.

No.5 what would you like to share about Revelator Records?
Sure thing! I also have an answer for the first question if you need it.
I would love to share about Revelator, that if all goes according to plan we'll have three new albums out for you all by the end of the year. That's exciting because it's not a ton, but three is no joke; that's a lot of music coming, so I'm really excited about that.
That's amazing. For a brand new label that's a lot.
We're staying busy.
And then the last thing- My grandmother used to say, ‘be always kind of good. Not kind and good.’ That was her farewell. So that was my favorite motto growing up.
